For Episode 10, we traveled to Ashley’s Ice Cream, a Connecticut favorite, in Branford.
Joining us were co-owner Brian Anderson, organizing and lifestyle expert Lisa Lilas, cookbook author and personal chef Gloria Zimmerman, and Ed Bartlett, the publisher of CT Out and About.com.

Choices.
Too many, but knowing you have choices should be an empowering realization. But when the choice is to wear a Man Bag, or to go to the dentist, or get a vaccine for shingles the empowerment has more risk than slamdunk upside. Knowing you have a choice to act or stay the course can be seen as taking control, or giving control up to fear.
What choices have you made that took control of your life? Even at my demi-bloated state I am 1/3 less body mass than I was 5 years ago. That choice had consequences – I now work out at least an hour at least 6 days a week – but I took control.
Now I have to make the choice to let a doctor tell me where my less bloated body has drifted away from my control in ways I can’t perceive unless I let him/her poke, probe and palpate. Ick. How do you get a loved one (typically a white male like moi) to endure that oh-so-uncomfy ordeal?

Yummm, Ashley’s Ice Cream! One of my better “Guilty Pleasures”. The BEST ice cream cake I ever had was from there.
