The Real Life Survival Guide has been operating on “radio silence” lately. Every once in a while you just need to stop, take a breath, regroup and recharge.
I was totally stressed the other day when my wife – “Dr J” – appeared at the door of my home office and suggested a trip to the beach in West Haven.
We went to the legendary Chick’s. The lobster rolls and fries, consumed out of doors, were perfect. And then we walked across the street to the beach, sat in the sand, and watched a kid each bird feathers.
I was reminded that sometimes you just need to “tap the brakes”. I’m taking my own advice with the RLSG: I won’t be producing new episodes for a while. We’ve just finished running a series to “Best Of” shows, and I’m going to kick back and think about where I want to take things next.
Regardless, here’s some unsolicited advice: whether it’s going to the beach on a work day or stepping back from a project, don’t think about it, do it.
You’ll be amazed…
